University of Southern California

The University of Southern California, popularly referred to as simply USC is one of the country’s oldest private educational institutions. It was founded in 1880 when Los Angeles lacked basic amenities like electricity and paved streets. Today, it is one of the largest private educational institutions in the country at present. USC has more than 20,000 students enrolled in its undergraduate programs. It has a ranking of 24 in the list of best universities across the country. USC is also one of the more expensive educational institutions with an average yearly tuition fee of more than $59000. 

Multiple Campuses for Thousands of Students

USC has an urban setting with its main campus, called University Park Campus, located in downtown LA in an area known as the Arts and Education Corridor. USC has other campuses also in Sacramento and even Washington, D.C. Students have the freedom to choose one or more of nearly a thousand organizations operating inside the campus, from politics to sports and religious groups. The sports teams of USC are called USC Trojans, and they participate in the Pac-12 Conference. The football team of USC is regarded as one of the best at the university level. 

USC has Produced Outstanding Personalities

There is no compulsion for undergraduate students to live on the campus of USC. However, the administration has several apartment buildings and residence halls, where nearly 40% of the students live.
